Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue where my website’s favicon is not showing in Google search results. I’ve already implemented the favicon properly in the <head> tag using the correct format and size. Additionally:

  • Sitemap has been updated in Google Search Console
  • Manual URL inspection and “Request Indexing” has been done
  • Favicon file is publicly accessible and loads fine

It’s been over a week, but the favicon still hasn’t appeared in search listings. Has anyone else faced a similar delay or knows any additional steps I should try?

Hello,

Please tell us the specific code you have in the head for your favicon. Sometimes you think it’s correct, but it ends up having a typo or something you didn’t realize that takes a separate set of eyes to pick up on.

Also, make sure that Google is able to crawl your favicon.ico file just fine. Is it blocked in robots.txt? Are you using something else (Cloudflare, etc.) to block bots?
