I am a real Newbie. I am 69 years old, I've never had a laptop and just got an iBook G4 12 inch screen 1.33Ghz on E-bay. It arrived today. It has an administrator with a password. I read in the manual it can be changed by MAC OS 10.4.2 Install disc that came with the computer.

The problem is that the drive keeps ejecting the disc. It sometimes whirs but then ejects it. This computer is supposed to play cds and dvds so I tried a few of those and those eject as well.

Before I write the person I got the computer from I wanted to see if it could be something simple. I am afraid I am going to get an argument because they say no return on used computers.

Also the reason I got it is because I am going to be confined to bed for awhile and really don't have time to look for another one. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Warm Regards, Carol

Apple has great support, Check the serial to see if it is under warranty https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do sounds like a bad dvd drive which should be an easy job if you can get someone to do it locally, but make sure you check the warranty first.
