Ok, my son has an older PC. It's running on Windows 2000. It's custom made. Anyway, the mouse was working fine. I had a friend clean the hard drive and then re-install Windows 2000. Now we don't have a mouse. You can't see the pointer. I went into system devices and nothing is listed. I took a plug n play mouse from my other system and the computer still didn't detect it. I asked the friend (who cleaned it) if he knew why the mouse won't work and he doesn't have a clue.
I tried to go in and add a mouse but it won't let me.
Any clues?
