I have a Westell 6100 DSL modem that works on my computer(Windows ME), but not on my mom's laptop(Windows 98). I connect it through the USB port on both computers (neither one has a network card). The problem is that when I run the setup wizard from the CD BellSouth gave me, it doesn't detect the modem. It only detects the infrared port... and there's no modem plugged into my infrared port! It says I have to configure the infrared port for TCP/IP.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, this should go in the Networking forum. Can a moderator move it there, please?
