I have a 21" apple CRT monitor. It is about 5 years old. Sometimes when I first turn it on everything is very blurry, in a minute or two the screen flickers and there is a crackling sound, it may do this two three or four times but eventurally after the crackling flicker the monitor clears up. I moved the monitor to use a different power source and it did not do it so dropped in new lines moved monitor back but it is still doing it. According to the IT guy video cards are OK. Any suggestions.

Sounds like your tube is on the fritz. I would just enjoy the non-blurred time as long as you can. I'm willing to bet that it will either fry or continue to just buzz and click for a while then clear up like it has been. Either way, the cost of repair will far exceed the post repair usefull life.
