Help-laptop wont boot cos screen cable damaged
Hi,
I have a Compaq nx7000 that wont boot because the screen cable / connector is damaged somehow. The first symptoms were random white lines on the screen and freezing up. Then blank screen and the machine wont even POST.
I managed to get it to work again briefly by reseating the screen cable connector, but now it is not working at all anymore.
The problem is that even with the screen unplugged from the laptop it wont boot (safety feature?) I would be happy to use it without the screen in the meantime until I can afford a new one.
Does anyone know how to overide the safety mechanism that stops it from booting without a screen?
Any ideas are welcome.
