I tried to recover the system using my system recovery disc. The process stops with an error message "disc access: sense operation failed" I follwed recommendation from this site. Downloaded Kill disk software and wiped out the disc. Even then the same error message is coming with the system recovery disc. How can I get my computer to work? Please help.

What OS are you running? If you can get a copy of the Slackware Linux installation cd1 it has an awesome utility built in that will allow you to completely erase your hard drive partition table in seconds flat. That utility is called cfdisk. After I do that I'd try to install my operating system then, and if I still get a problem I'd blame it on the hard drive but it could be something else.
