dont start asking for all the specs. swapped harddrives with opperating system that works on other cases so does graphics card. swapped processor that i know also works. just need simple eay answeres if at all possible to find out if motherboard is kaput. any sensible help welcome

Reset your bios settings. If they look like they've already been reset and dont hold settings, the battery probably went dead. Else it could simple be the mobo died.

Some local shops will have tools for testing the mobo and will check it for free if they're nice about it.
