Hi,

I want to share an interesting one with everyone.

I had a machine boot then turn off and boot again. It would do this as long as I let it. An endless loop!

So after searching everywhere on the web for an answer , I removed the new MOBO and replaced it using new risers with insulating washers.

Still no joy.

I put in a brand new 400W PS and with no cards or USB devices to drain any power and no joy!

Then as I had the HD out of the case, I hooked it up and it booted and stayed solid!

Over and over I tried to get it to fail. it wouldn’t!

I remounted the HD back in the case and guess what? PC we not go back into its boot-reboot-boot reboot loop!

So I removed and remounted the HD in upside down.

PC works great!

The offending HD is a Western Digital Caviar WD800BB 80 GB.

Play Twilight Zone theme music now…

Original problem probably was a bad connection.
