Hi altezza and welcome to daniweb,
Please do the following steps.
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Reboot the computer
Please Run the ESET Online Scanner and attach the ScanLog with your post for assistance.

* You will need to use Internet Explorer to to complete this scan.
* You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.
* Be sure the option to Remove found threats is Un-checked at this time (we may have it clean what it finds at a later time), and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
* When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt.
Reboot the computer.
Run a new HJT scan and save the log.
Post back here with all three logs.

i don't know how to install Active X to get the Online scanner working. Some help would be much apprecciated.

This is why you need to use Internet Explorer. It is able to download this activex control. Whether you realize it or not you have done this before, it shows in your HJT log. Those O16 entries are downloaded active x programs. Just use Internet Explorer. On the first page put a check mark in where it says you agree to the terms. Then click the Start button which will take you to the page showing in my attached. Very simple, click where it says to do so. A box should open with the choice to Install ActiveX just click on it. Then another box will appear, click the Install button. The ActiveX controls should then download When it is finished you will see a new page. Click Start. Installation of the scanner should begin. Just wait. Next page opens, Remove Threats with a box and Scan Unwanted Applications with a box. Put check marks in both. Click the scan button and then wait for the scan to finish.
That's it.

I had VIRUS ALERT! twice. I reinstalled Windows XP the first time out of frustration.
Now, I used Malwarebytes' Anti Malware and it fixed most of it, but I lost my ALL PROGRAMS link at the bottom of the START MENU in Windows XP. But, not Windows Classic view. In classic view you can read all.
TIP! You must download Tweak UI to enable your hard drive or drives, the C (D also, for me, I have two drives) . You would only want C if you have only one. I hope this helps, but if you find any solution to my problem please let me know.

DaniWeb4Jim, Know you are trying to offer help but at this point this is not what we are working on. If you have a problem of your own then please begin your OWN thread and somebody here will be very happy to assist.
Judy

I am new to this where do I find out how to do that. In addition thanks for your help.

I just want my ALL PROGRAMS and the arrow back in my START MENU. This message that you sent to altezza shows you might know which is why I did not think I needed my own group. Do you know YES..... NO.......

DaniWeb4Jim, Sorry but told you that you should begin your own thread. Answering questions from two different posters in one thread , whether problems are similar or not makes no difference, is way too confusing, both for the posters AND for the helper. You really need to begin your own thread
Go to first page here and on the left side you will see a button Start New Thread. See My Attachment
All you have to do is click it and new thread form will open. Give it a title which in a few words explains your problem yours could read Lost All Programs List from Start Menu
Then explain HOW it happened, when it happened, what programs you have used to correct this, etc. Then somebody can help you.
Judy

Sorry Judy I just answered an email from the community saying you answered me and you didn't. I thought you just threw me under the bus or so say fend for yourself. Sorry I misunderstood.
I will try your suggestion. That was easy, see. Today is my first day and I am lost. It is a bad bad virus try not to get it.
