I'll be running my cwshreder and posting that soon
but, I wanted to give some earlier details first (running a virus scan now...ran spybot and adaware first and they only found minor spyware)

Anyway, my system (win 2000) froze this am...task manager wouldn't even work. So, I shut down and when I tied to reboot, I couldn't even get into safe mode. Nothing worked, except putting in my companion disk. Which didn't help at all, cause I couldn't even go anywhere in dos....couldn't do a scan disk, couldn't start in safe mode, nothing at all

I was about to give up but decided to try a reboot and hold down the f4 key....then it worked (weird)

It's running now, but very, very slow.

Does anyone know why that might have happened?

Damn, it froze again during the virus scan...and the task manager isn't working either.

I might ad that I did install divx a few days ago...along with it came that damn google task bar (if I had knownn that I wouldn't have downloaded it)

I'll try to get back to where I was before (although I have little doubt) as it's stuck in some darn abyss right now

I didn't get the hijack this to wok because the puter froze again!

Finally, I was up long enough to get it! I sure hope someone can help!
Thanks in advance

So, do you think it could be the google stuff that had been added?
Any other ishy thing you see in there?

I just wanna a normal puter again

Well.....no luck gettin help today
Now I get a Disk I/O error and cant even get in the puter at all...
I have a very bad feeling it's trashed. Mother board or something.
I did nothing and it got worse each time I tried to boot up

It's possible I could have overlooked something, but I don't see anything in your log that would cause a problem.

Why couldn't you boot into Safe Mode?

It's possible your hard drive could be giving out; you may want to back everything up, and get another hard drive, just in case.

This may sound really stupid, but how can I back everything up when I can't get into the puter?

It now will at least get to "checking file system on C", and it gets stuckk there at 0% completed. And, it's right to that screen even when I try to start in safe mode....

If it won't boot up at all anymore, the only way I know to back it up would be to put into a computer as a slave drive -- either in another computer you have, or in this one after you get a new drive installed and setup.
