PLug it in and give both your pc and the external a thorough scan with a good antivirus program.

Do you have antivirus software? if so, what is it?

Install McAfee Anti-Virus with latest updates on to your PC then connect your external Hard Disk...double click My Computer then Right Click on your External Hard Disk then choose SCAN FOR THREADS...IT WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

No it wont. The infection is a trojan. It will take a variety of software to cure it completely.

Give it a thorough Mbam scan too. Google will find it.

I would also like you to download and run panda antirootkit from here - http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=5457&file=9&evp=48f78333afefe88250d4d2dd09f65b17

PLease post the results of the panda antirootkit scan, the log from Mbam, and an HJT log in your next post.

panda antirookit all clean.

heres Mbam scan
