I recently started having mouse problems. It does not respond to left click. I have scanned my pc with Symantec Security 2009, attempted to do an online scan with Kaspersky, TrendMicro, and McAfee. I got error messages for all of those (you are not online, system errors, etc) except Symantec - which says my system is clean.
I can't get to hardware profiles. It is extremely difficult to do anything without a functioning mouse. I replaced the mouse and keyboard - same issue. I changed ports. I deleted my latest Windows update. I attempted to repair by booting from the OS disc, everything went well until I reached the EULA page - it asked me to press F8 to accept - no response.
I am running Windows XP Media Center 2005 SP3.
It is a Dell Dimension E521 with 4 sticks of OEM 512 memory.

Processor - AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2 Ghz
150 HD - about 25% used
I did a complete format in April. I am really at a loss here. I have tried everything I can think of - but a lot of these things it won't even allow me to do! I tried to do a System Restore, but it will only allow me to restore to the point set for the present day - even though I can see that there are earlier restore points.
