CPU at 100% and very slow computer...

Hi
My computer has recently started being very slow, to the point where i cant even watch a dvd properly. It shows cpu usage 100% most of the time in the task manager. Im a student and exams are coming up quite soon, and i have to write a couple of essays so I am kind of panicked.
I usually use my laptop mostly for listening to music, chatting on msn or doing research.
I've got a hijack this file which might help.

it would be easier if you go to task manager, "ctrl, alt del" and go to processes and see which process is using the most of your cpu?

From there post the process that is eating the cpu usage and we can see what it is and advise you accordingley.

the svchost.exe process is using up a lost of memory, and it has 5 different versions of it running, using up a total of about 50,000k.but cpu is used it seems by the system process (50 to 60%), or system idle process (20 to 30%).

Temporary help !!!

I have the same problem and this works !
It is the ccproxy running at 100% i guess

If you go to start
Open up the run key
And type "services.msc"
Find the Symantec Network Proxy
Select this and restart the service, this only works for a while then you will have to do it again, keep the task manager open so you can keep an eye on the cpu.
It saves rebooting
I am looking for a long term solution for this myself so if you find one let me know !!!
