I am at my wits end. I have tried everything to get rid of my every annoying pop-ups but to no avail. I've downloaded spyware blockers, my internet provider has a spyware and popup blocker and have even restricted the sites that are a problem and they still pop up.

I found this forum and I'm hoping someone can help me. I downloaded and ran Hijackthis.

below is a list of items you definately want to get rig of on your PC. weather bug is also a big leak to get pop up into yuour pc if u are not an avid weather fan GET RID OF IT. if u can navigate the registry find those entry delete them and find the other file and delete them from the directory listed.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU BACK UP REG KEYS BEFORE EDITING. and you might want to dot all this in safe mode. spyware that are listed in the windows directory and set to run have a nasty habidt of undeleting themselves. also run adaware & spybot in safe mode then restart and run the spyware programs again.

I did everything in safe mode and even ran the AVG Anti-spyware again.. rebooted and ran the hijackthis again and the files are gone. I also deleted weatherbug.

So...

I've been on the internet now for about 15 minutes and ..... thank you, thank you, thank you; no POPUPS!!!!. I was about to lose my mind, I had popups every 5 seconds.

PS you might want to set your spayware to scan every day at a time you are not using the PC

I use Cox security suite and I always run a scheduled virus and spyware scan and every night ... another reason I was totally confused as to what to do next.
