hello! i have a mac that is kind of old, i think it's a PowerMac3, made in 99. anyways, it's been a really long time since i've used it, and i've decided to buy Mac X Panther 10.3.5 to install on it. During the six year period that i have not used my macintosh, i have use a windows, so i got used to windows settings. I felt that there was lots of trash in my mac hard disk, so i decided to give it to my friend. He said that he would erase the entire disk for me, and he did. however, all hell broke loose when what happened next. I turned on my mac and instead of booting, it had a folder that had a question mark blinking along with the mac face. alright, so i said no problem. i slapped the Panther disk in there, then restarted my computer, then what happened? nothing! and that's the problem, nothing happened, literally. the folder was still there. so i restarted my computer and held down "c", and still, nothing happened. I also held down options to select a source to boot from, but only the folder with the question mark was there and the two buttons (refresh and next). also, i lost all of my other disks when i moved, so that means that I don't have the software disk, or the original operating system disk for it. so here's where i pose my question. How do I install Panther onto my computer when it won't boot whatsoever? please, i really do need help. i wasted a lot of money if this is a lost cause.
