I think I have viruses on my computer and I have done a full scan and that and removed the viruses but i am still unable to change my background. I am running Vista Home Premium

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

If you see ActiveDesktop key or a string value Wallpaper under the System key, delete it.

Hope you are comfy working in the Registry. Best to create a systemrestore point first.

You may also want to have a look at although its shown as applicable for XP.

The keys ActiveDesktop and Wallpaper don't exist in Regedit. I've also tried the Microsoft article. No help there :( Is there any other help available to fix this?
