Hi,

I have a dell xps 1210 with 120Gb and windows xp professional on it and suddenly i lost all the free space on the hard disk. It wasn't even half full and today i am left with only 7GB. Please help me. I have done a system restore but it was of no use. I did a system cleanup also and it gave me 2Gb xtra. I am shocked and I need urgent help.

thanks,
Deepu

if this is somthing that happened all of a sudden then it might be possible that you might have some type of virus creating a bunch of files. I would definately run a virus scan. or better yet download and run Hijackthis and post it in the virus and spyware section, someone will be able to help you there if you do have a virus.

Did you made any recent Hardware changes ? i.e. HDD Jumpers changing ?

Welcome to DaniWeb BTW.

Use ATF cleaner + CCleaner

check the page file and the hibernation file sizes, you will have to show hidden files
