ok... I have an unusual problem and maybe I'm just overlooking something very simple. I'm running IE6 sp2 on a one month old Dell laptop. recently, if I type in any webaddress with the "www.anyaddress.com" format, IE will take a lifetime to recognize that I just gave it a command. however, if I give it the http:// beginning, it will take me right to the address.

I've run Ad-aware SE, spybot, McAfee8. I'm clean.

Well you might want to consider using mozilla firefox its alot better than IE. But if you really want to stay with IE we can do some troubleshooting.
