When attempting to copy a picture from either the web or my own document files into a word document, text hyperlink appears from the web or "embedded object" appears from my files. The only way i figured my way around this was to directly drag saved photos into the document via my desktop. This is a new problem, starting today.

all windows//office files up to date
still get URL text instead of a PHOTO ??????????

Try this :
tools-->options-->view (tab)-->show (frame)--->field codes(Uncheck this )
