Have a problem on a friends computer. When the start button is pressed it just stays pressed and nothing at all pops up.
Sorry I do not know when this problem started.
I know he had trojans and spyware.
I had to take the hd out and scan it in another computer because it wouldn't even boot to windows before.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Jump to Postit could be a problem with the power supply. I swapped power supplies round on my computers and it fixed the problem. Also make sure that the power switch cables are connected to the motherboard.

if you are able to scan the hard drive for viruses, try using kaspersky and Fsecure. if you are able to scan with both of them and find nothing, then it's safe to say that you don't have a virus. those companies have the highest detection rate.
