I am a victim of vista. I have a 3 computer network. 2 wireless laptops with vista os. The host is a desktop with xp. I have had a tough time but I finally got them to talk with each other. My question ( and tons of others) is trying to assign a port in vista. I used \\name\name format. It will not let me add a new port. The error is logon failure the user has not been granted the requsted logon type at this computer. (this is on the laptop with vista) If I hit configure lpt port all I get is transmission retry 90 seconds. My printed is an HP and I installed the vista version on the vista machine. There are a bunch of port selections to choose from. I tried them all. It's a matter of principle now.........please assist...thanks
