What technology that you used to use have you ever stopped using entirely even though everyone it's still really popular and else still uses it?

For me it's not so much a technology as much as I used to be obsessed with The Sims until I realized that I was spending 8+ hours a day focusing on giving my Sims amazing lives instead of giving myself an amazing life. I stopped playing entirely during its peak of popularity. I'm pretty sure they're still coming out with new extension packs to this day.

I was never one to jump on the band wagon. If a tech was useful or fun then I used it. I use it until it is no longer fun or useful. I still use my Oculus Quest because it is still fun. I use ChatGPT because it is useful. When several of our friends got hot-air friers and urged us to get one we just said, "meh" and didn't bother. The last thing we needed was yet another gadget taking up space.

I'll have to speak predictively. Adam got us a soy milk maker for Christmas. I fully expect we'll use it for few months then relegate it to the bck of a closet.

I'll say the Windows operating system. I used to use it almost exclusively because I knew nothing else.

But then a friend of mine that I met at Uni enthusiastically introduced me to Linux. He was a fan of Gentoo, which was a bit complicated for me, so I started with Fedora which at the time was "Fedora Core 4" and never really looked back. Even at the Uni computer lab I would shun the Windows computers and head right for the Mac machines because they were a bit Linux like.

I have not owned a Windows machine since.

OK, I'll double down on switching from Windows to macOS when I moved to Silicon Valley and got together with my husband who works for Apple.

But are soy milk makers actually popular amongst anyone? How does one even go about making soymilk?

Here's another one: e-readers such as Kindle and the like.

The physical paper book is just far superior in my opinion and my Kindle ran out of charge many years ago and hasn't seen the light of day since.

On a side note: @rproffitt I don't understand your comment "You're absolutely right.". You made the same comment on another post a week ago and it didn't make sense to me then either. What do you mean?

How does one even go about making soymilk?

You add the prescribed amount of beans and water. Then add any extras like dates, then select soy milk from the menu and press start. Then wait.
