For personal use, usually Windows Firewall (included) is the sensible choice. If you mean antivirus etc., check out Malwarebytes and AVG for good free options.

Not a lot to go on here...but click Start -> Devices and Printers -> Add a Printer. If it's a network printer maybe that's your issue.
