Is the BIOS saying that it is 80 or is it an on-case display. My BIOS reports about 7 degrees hotter than my case.

Do you have the small gold pieces in your case that raise the mobo off the bottom. If you dont the motherboard has been shorting out against the metal case. If you are lucky you havent fried your motherboard. When i built my first PC i had that problem. Devon

Tell him to build his own please!!!!!!!!!! (newegg.com) If he still refuses make sure he doesn't buy a Dell at least. Overpriced, horrible computers. No upgrade potential at all.

You will have more than one PCI slot and only one AGP. AGP will also be much larger and brown.

Is the motherboard mounted directley on the case or do you have small gold standoffs. If you dont the motherboard is shorting out and you might have fried it. Let me know if this helps.

Good luck with that. I tried to upgrade my Dell 2400 and it was impossible. I had no AGP slots the motherboard wasn't ATX. There was very little potential. You could build a much better comp. from scratch with that price range.
