Re: My boss (typical male) hits the q key six times and counts it out loud. That might be just stupid enough to be good. Let's hope he never gets to this forum.
Re: Nice work, but the code input is limited to one line. Might have to put that one into a while loop with a break key symbol to end the loop. Happy coding!
Re: I have had all sorts of boyfriends, but the ones I really like are creative types like musicians (composers), writers, poets, painters (no house painters please), as long as they have a little humor and wit, and are no sourpusses or malcontents. My recommendation to JB, girls like to be …
I was told this forum was global, but I will ask the question anyway. This Sunday is Superbowl Sunday, when at least in the USA and countries that have US Military bases millions of sports watchers will be glued to the TV to watch the final glorious football game of …

Re: I let you in on a secret, ladies never do such thing, and if they did, it would simply smell like roses!

Re:
Narue isn't a sir
I think she used Sir because she wanted to be polite. What is wrong with him that he isn't to be called a Sir? :) just kidding!
Re: It seems to find the module VisionEgg, but not the method/attribute start_default_logging() Are you sure there is such a thing, and is it spelled correctly. Also, do you have to create an instance of class VisionEgg to make this work? Sorry I am using 'wonderful' Windows Vista and shied away …
Re: The way I feel about Vista is "Let's Kill the Beast!" and get something better soon from Mr. Bill.
Re: Keep bothering us, it's the best way to learn! :)
Re:
Not in this case, but it would also make an amusing video should the thing melt and burning fuel flows under a car... am I wrong?
LOL!!! There is no worse fool than an old fool! Too bad they stopped the video too early.
Re: We had a small bird attack our cat in the yard! The poor cat couldn't even escape up a tree! Too bad I didn't have a camera handy that day.
Re: Python has list, tuple, and array containers. What is your definition of a safearray?
Re: That would be tough, I wasn't even born yet!
Re: The Python statement print is only for console programs. The extra event_obj argument does not make much sense here. You could show short texts in the title of your GUI frame, or create a label or text widget/object to show longer texts.
Re: There is no simple dictionary function build in, since values may not be unique, but you can use this:
# search a dictionary for key or value def find_key(dic, val): """return the key of dictionary dic given the value""" return [k for k, v in symbol_dic.iteritems() if v == val][0] …
Re: Sounds like your problem is the "very old" OS you are using. With much luck you could find someone still familiar with WindowsME.
Re: If you have upper left corner coordinates (x1, y1) and lower right corner coordinates (x2, y2), then your width would simply be x2 - x1.
Re: I have heard that if you order baby clothes from the Sears catalog, the baby comes with it, as long as you use their credit card.
Re: Congrats scru for numero 600! I am left handed, but just looking at my science class fellow students, I fall into the usual 10% lefties in class. Actually, my art classes have more lefties.

Re:
Another suggestion would be not to use the IDLE IDE but something like the popular DrPython IDE (needs wxPython) or the PyScripter IDE.
I agree, IDLE is a leftover from the early days of Python and is still in the Python distribution. It has some issues with some of the Vista …
Re: With an ever increasing (almost exploding) population real estate prices should icrease. If you are so inclined, you can hope for something like a bird flu pandemic, or major crop failures to reverse that trend.
Re: There must be lots of posters from Antarctica on Dani's Web. Strange that nobody fessed up to it yet. Don't be so darn shy. I will drink to all those frozen folks with a frozen margarita!
Re: China is too busy getting rich! War simply costs too much. WW3 is for the fools to pursue.
Re: To me the Tkinter GUI toolkit is about as simple as it comes. If you really want to get into fancy widgets (html, plotting, sound), then switch to wxPython. That however is somewhat of a steep learning curve.
Re: You got the muscles, show them! We have the best veterans of any country.
Re:
I would hate sunshine all night. That's why we have Alaska in the summer. Am I the only person who thinks that fire fart was fake? It was friggin' huge.
Eat a pound of refried beans and you can do it!
Re: You can put them in a directory in the PYTHONPATH, so Python can find it (be careful with that one):
# show PYTHONPATH import sys print sys.path
Or better, add your own module directory (let's say MyModules) to PYTHONPATH. You have to add this all your programs that import one …

A small thread to honor those with creative or simply nice avatars. I like Sulley's Boo avatar

Re:
Shrillary Rodham Antichrist is the most fitting I've heard her called so far.
I assume there are silly names like this for all presidential candidates.
