I have windows xp ultimate and I had received a virus in some part of my operating system. So I deleted it. Now my computer will not start up. Goes to the safe mode selection screen. And that is it. How do I fix this problem?

I am having trouble with some websites "remembering me". My Yahoo email accounts are fine, but theroyalforums.com, kroger.com, and jaycfoods.com will not (there may be a couple others also). Once I close the browser it "forgets" me. Any suggestions? Thanks much!
