I always thought you were odd, now there is proof ;-)

Haven't you noticed my avatar? There is no way i can be considered normal no matter what we are talking about..

Two pairs dedicated for home use?

Yep.

Is that one for upstairs and one down, or one formal and one casual?

They are somewhat left around the house that way but realistacly, i just wear whatever one i see first.

Wehn do you wear the slippers if you also have shoes?

If my feet are cold or i just feel like it (and when my dogs and cat are not fighting for it), then i wear it.

Are the shoes for moving around in and the slippers for when you have sat down?

Not really. The shoes are just worn to keep the house clean and to protect my feet from hitting things (neither shoe look used... both look like they are display shoes at a nike store). the slippers are worn when i feel like it (typically winter mornings).

ROFL

Yeah :)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Also known as slippers :-)

No... i meant shoes, i have 2 pairs dedicated for home use... i have slippers as well :)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

For some reason my feet attract pointy objects lol.

That is why i bought myself shoes to wear in the house... i keep hitting my pinky toe on the edges of furniture or on something sharp...

I thought this maybe a useful way to keep traffic within daniweb but what if you (Dani) made it so that when you click on a link, it opens a new window or better, new tab. It gets kind of annoying when opening them in the same window. just a recommendation.

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

When i get the chance, i will try to make some changes to it :)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Hey, do you think it would be best to load the jquery UI right after jquery itself in the header? Also, in regards to my code, don't I already have the jquery file before the jquery ui (i hope i didn't misinterpret my own code)?

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

you are missing the @keyframes to invoke the animation and also support (webkit vendor prefix for example) for browsers that do not natively support the animation property.

Ah, thanks for bringing that up!

Here is an updated example.. hope you dont mind.

That is actually pretty nice, though it would be better to see the cloud moving left to right continuously.

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Okay, i will definitely take that into consideration! In the mean time, i am going to make those changes.

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

I learned how to make a storm, and this is how you do it:

HTML:
<div class="stormy"></div>

CSS:

 /* STORMY */
    .stormy {
        animation: stormy 5s ease-in-out infinite;
        background: #222222;
        border-radius: 50%;
        box-shadow:
            #222222 65px -15px 0 -5px,
            #222222 25px -25px,
            #222222 30px 10px,
            #222222 60px 15px 0 -10px,
            #222222 85px 5px 0 -5px;
        height: 50px;
        width: 50px;
        margin-left: -60px;
        position: absolute;
        left: 947px;
        top: 70px;
    }
<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

I always recommend that you load the jQuery library first. Then you can figure out the correct order after that.

Okay, let me do that. Also, where do you recommend i place the js/jquery libraries within the document? Do you prefer the header or body? Or do the rest not really matter (other than the jquery library itself)?

Other than that, nothing else really stands out..but you do have a boat load of external resources loading.

:)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

This may not be your case, but something to consider if you develop web apps for customers. Say you have a generic web app that serves some business purpose, and you sell it to a variety of customers... you can see in that scenrio, using fully qualified host names would pose a problem when reusing your code.

That was definitly worth knowing. I will definitly consider it for future projects, espicially professional works. I am not sure if you are interested but are you able to assist with this current situation involving a glitch in my code causing the intro to never load on the page?

Also, i am sending you a link to the page so you can see it for yourself :)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Okay.... i removed wordpress but the page still looks the same :(

Any other ideas that i should try?

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Btw. Upvoting with rep has no effect within a certain timeframe. I appreciate the gesture, but is has no effect other than a regular upvote.

I am aware... i just do it so that it gets everyone to participate and share their ideas :) (good idea, don't you say?)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Eh... it doesn't matter, as long as I learn something new and make my projects works, i am all for it.

Okay, Wordpress has been removed.

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Should i remove it and see what happens?

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

I removed the one that had a warning on it (according to chrome) and the page still appears the same. Did i remove the right one?

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Hmm, i don't think it is any htaccess. I haven't had any issues with the past but i do assume the issue is caused by either: a) my sloppy coding b) Wordpress's crash on the domain

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

If you use chrome, you are able to see the js files i am using if you simply go and inspect an element>resources>frames>scripts

Maybe that will help you a bit more to help me when it comes to seeing my js files? Also, there really isn't anything special on the domain itself... would it be because I still have WP installed on it which maybe is causing the issue (it crashed, which is why the main page is all white)?

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Do you have any recommendations to avoid the 404s? I personally am lost at this point because I now feel like ALL my js files got messed up in their own way.

Also, when i search for the example you gave on a browser, i just see the js code for it (i put in the actual site name in it instead:D) (i am using chrome).

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

@Jim... well thats great, you just made me flinch -_-

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Okay... this may sound stupid but I just discovered the problem was that my brother played a prank on me by adding an extra folder in the directory (which i didn't notice until i realized that he threw everything in a folder called Nothing_Suspicious).

So, now all the elements should be showing on the page... which means it leads me to my next question. Why is it that my site gets stuck at the introduction i set up? I sent you both the link to the site to help me identify where the problem is. I gave you guys rep points for the previous contribution.

On the other bright side, you will get better in probably a week or 2...

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

not really. i just saved them to my site using filezilla. i personally find it easier to edit them from any computer this way.

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

At this point i don't see the purpose of an app... mobile display on the browsers look fine, as was mentioned above. If the app is going to be made, there has to be something interesting in there that you won't find on the site... so it is at least worth downloading.

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

I seem to not be able to identify why the styling does not appear at all on my page... Did i reference something incorrectly? It all appears right to me... syntax, quotes, tags all look right. Does anyone have an idea what may be happening? Sorry if my question is unclear, I am frustrated with this website :)

@Slavi, i am kind of like a bodybuilder except with the fact that I play football, 100m sprint, soccer, martial arts, and basketball... i am really cut (bodyfat last measured at 7.7%, it has gone up due to Ramadan), big (does 16.5 inch biceps count as big for a 16 year old lol), strong (I can 50 wide grip pull ups in one set now, bench 275, and squat 315, i have not measured a max in squat for a awhile), but since your a bodybuilder... your by default bigger then me.

I think it has to do with the fact that I originate from the middle east (despite the fact that I look like a white male with a nice tan and thick black hair). Let me see if i can get a pic of myself.

I actually own one of those. My neighbor bought one for me (I tutor their 2 kids and have been for the last 4 years. they have straight A's since then... plus i never really charged them). They are not that great (I own the red and black one called the magic cube for the ipad, it is from the same company). The keyboard doesn't always detect what you type when you type fast plus they are not that effective when there is light in the room. I rarely use it but whenever I get a chance to use it, I use it at night or at least when the sun is barely out. Not to forget, you can't really use it on anything but a flat surface (it isn't that great when you use it on your lap). The multi-touch features are pretty decent. Overall, the laser keyboard is a nice idea but it really depends on the user. I know my little sister enjoys using it. I also wish the battery lasted longer on those things...

@expertmagician, you may like it if you want to experience some "new" tech. I liked it when I first got it but i got sick of it like a week later.

I would give it a: 6/10

Faulty equipment causes nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl
Money lost in 1986: $358 billion in clean-up and the value of lost farmland
Inflation adjusted price: $720 billion
In 1986, four reactors went out of control during a test which led to an explosion and fire. The fire destroyed the reactor building in its entirety. The explosion also released an unsafe amount of radiation into the air.

The explosion caused the immediate death of two plant employees and then in the months following, 28 firefighters and clean-up workers died because of exposure to the radiation.

I copied this directly from Business Insider.

A lot of sources that I have read say stalin killed more than hitler? Just the famine stalin caused killed more people than the jews dying in the holocaust.

Here is one source...https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006050806108

Besides, even if stalin killed approximately 20 million people, that is still more than what hitler killed (9-15 million)

<M/> 170 Why so serious? Featured Poster

Stalin's reign doesn't just involve WW2, remember when he caused a great famine in Ukraine that costed 7 million lives in 1932-1933. He killed millions during the Great Purge. He killed many people due to gulags and collectivization.
