That is a bit of a vague request. What do you mean by library? A collection of computer code or a place that loans books? What do you want the code to do?

I wrote a system that implement 3M's Standard Interchange Protocl for a library automation project. See http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/355361O/sip2-protocol.pdf The protocol is quite well documented and easy to work with.
That might be one place to start - or you may be asking about something completely different, I can't tell.
