Okay so i have a delete button in my application and want to replace the button with an image

i have tried using img type however when i click this the getparameter function - i need this to run jsp code sql delete query- it doesnt work - the button version does work however they want an image not a button

i have tried overlaying the button with css and the delete image however i cant hide the value of the button from displaying
