Greetings... I am a new member to DaniWeb. My Wife's system began its current symptoms about a week ago 08-10-2012. First sporadically, then seemed to escalate exponentially until 08-12-2012 when she could no longer: 1. double-click on her icons in... (we must right-click and choose OPEN) a. the START menu b. desktop c. Quick Launch (which disappears after each reboot after we have clicked to have it display) 2. We could no longer move icons on the desktop to another location until I ran a. regsvr32 ole32.dll and b. regsvr32 /i shell32.dll c. It solved the problem of icon movement, …

I host a website on an intranet. The website is hosted on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit via IIS. The HTML5/CSS3 became corrupted in IE. On the computer itself the website does not display correctly in development or when I browse to its hosted version, but the other computers that browse to this website using IE9 see the website as intended. Firefox works perfectly both on this computer and on the intranet. It is being served up correctly even though it is corrupted when viewed locally from the computer which hosts it. Websites without any HTML5/CSS3 display correctly on this …

Hi everyone. I'd like to ak for your help with a messed up partition (probably corrupted table as I understand it). I don't have much experience when it comes to this. Here's my problem: I have a probably corrupted disk and I wanted to create a partition avoiding the bad sectors. I had no idea which app would be suitable so I used a partition magic 8 (it came to my mind first as I used it in the past). I stared it up and it showed some message about fixing my partitions automatically and I was in a hurry …

Hi, I have this chinese (fake) ipod thing and its totally gone mad. can't turn it on. I don't really mind about not turning it on but i can't use it as storage since when i was formatting it windows stopped and it got corrupted. Now when i plug it in windows detects the new hardware but can't find the driver for it. (honestly i don't think windows needs any drivers to access storage anyways i didn't have to look for drivers when it still was working) Please help me. Even just to get it working as storage. tnks

Hello, Been lurking around these forums for a little while and I have reallly appreciated all the help. I am dualbooting my system, Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.4. All was working quite well, when one day, I rebooted from within windows, and when I tried to come back in, Windows didn't work. In GPartEd, the windows Partition shows for Filesystem "unknown". I am wondering if it is just the MBR that is messed up or if I have bigger problems. Thankfully I had most of the data backedup, but I would like to recover it if possible. Any suggestions?

Hey guys, after compiling my program I get the following error
Windows has triggered a breakpoint in *.exe. This may be due to a corruption of the heap, which indicates a bug in *.exe or any of the DLLs it has loaded. This may also be due to the user pressing F12 while *.exe has focus.
so I debugged my code and I narrowed the error down to the last line of code that i posted below. it is
delete[] pchMskFileName;
. so I understand that you would get that kind of error when you allocate memory with "new", then assign …
