Hello all. So, I'm in my final year of my B.Tech. in computer science programme and I have to do a project for my final year. The thing is I want the project to be unique/innovative. I brainstormed a few things: 1. An online music player that can store your local computer files on cloud. Sorts them according to album, artists, stars, favorites, etc. You can listen to your songs anywhere on any anydevice once the are synched. But this is already implemented by amazon as cloudplayer.com. Is there any extra feature or more innovative faeture that I can implement. …

Since some of us might get a bit rusty with our coding, we constantly need projects to keep us busy, no matter how big or small. Making sure you code a little a day it not only fun but also allows your skills to continue growning. The problem though, is that sometimes you just don't know what to code. You simply just run out of ideas... So I would like to encourage everyone, to post some ideas and suggestions here of projects to take on, no matter how big or small, whether it's a simple console program that does some …

We have started Object Oriented Programming in C++. And it has been four weeks. We were taught about Constructors, copy constructors, operators overloading functions, binary/unary and ofcourse, basics about classes. I need to get a project approved by teacher. She still has to teach us Inheritance. So we still know the fundamentals but nothing too advanced for decent oops. Anyway, I thought of making a DATABASE of a hospital records as my project. Some said a libary or a store is also an option. I have little next to no idea about this database. Question is -is it a decent …

Hello all, I am trying to think of ideas for programming projects, Python is the language I know most about so I decided to post it here. I have made some random stuff, like a Python program which generates a specified amount of asterisks I have made a text based game, which I think I have posted somewhere here, I have made a simple tic-tac-toe game (I found this a bit uncreative), I am running out of ideas though. What should I do? Regards, HTMLperson5

How about doing some effort instead of immediately voicing your desperation to Daniweb for 1001st tictactoe problem? Here is some ideas for those young spirits (I did not say newbies ;) ) 1. What is this search box here over in right hand corner? 2. What a heck is this 'code snippet' tab here? 3. Google is big supporter of Python. Maybe I could support them by googling some solutions? Then you can reasonable expect to find some post in DaniWeb helpful directly or by the way of analogous solution to problem to do more than half of your job …

Making Money on the internet can take some time but if u can be consistent you can make alot of money on the internet. There are different ways you can market on the internet like paid advertising. Paid avertising u can see results real quick with paid leads and text ads. Another way people use to Market on the internet is using search engines, blogs and social networking etc. to promote their website. This also can be an effective strategy to get traffic to your website. The paid advertising would be the best if u got the money to spend …

Hello all, Next semester I will be taking a course on Fortran, and I know that come December I will have to develop a final project, but alas, I currently have no ideas for what to do, or even what all can be done in Fortran. I have looked up a few sample programs, but I would appreciate some feedback on what kind of projects are doable and enjoyable in Fortran. The class is not an advanced programming course, it is designed for Meteorology majors and I am probably the only student taking it with any programming experience. The professor, …

I'm thinking of something to create to improve computer's classic software, maybe a higher level programming language than the actual, or a smarter OS, or maybe make expert systems improve with AI, etc ... On the other hand, Computers nowadays can be very helpful, but also can be used to steel information, terrorism, and other crimes. If we do make better computers, they will eventually fall in the wrong hands, and be a more efficient tool for bad. How do you think we can prevent it ? I believe there might be a way to prevent it, but not by …

Hi everyone. I know that asking for project ideas is generally frowned upon, but I wish to ask anyways. This isn't for school, it's just because I want to. I want to start writing applications that would be used in a business or workplace environment. I don't have a lot of expertise in this specific area, and it isn't something that my programing class goes over. So, I guess my question is: Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to do something really basic, it needs to be challenging. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great =) …

Hi guys, I have been programming in python for just a bit over 2 years now. Being quite apt at it i was wondering, what can you do to really extend yourself in python? We have a lovely thread in the Projects for Beginners, but in some ways i have always thought it would be nice to find out some ideas of projects for non-beginners who could maybe spent a week or more on an idea. So any ideas? Whats a project for the non-beginner? :)
