I actually made these suggestions jus now on an old thread and got message that the thread is old and to open a new one instead. And so, here I am with my own suggestions to attract newbies to this forum and earn oldbies a new income on the side. I am one newbie. You can bet on that! And, I mus add: A hell of a enthusiastic newbie ! So, take this thread suggestions as a pinch of gold liquid! Because, if you ignore them then the liquid will sip through your fingers and it would be too late …

To reduce the amount of threads/posts from new members that are here only to post (pointless) threads or posts just to have their signature with spammy URLs underneath it, is it not an idea that the 'Post signature' functionality is only available if a member have posted already a certain amount of posts? Say for example 30.

Hi I own website hosting and design company and usually create my own accounts for Companies House and also need to make a return to HMRC Coroporation Tax annually. Recently there has been a move to present company accounts in the iXBRL format (inline business reporting language). This either requires using a firm of accountants or buying in to a service that will convert accounts to the iXBRL format. Many small companies have been able to make their own returns, they now face a problem. The going rate to create iXBRL compatible accounts is currently about 90 GBP. If I …

I'm totally new to c++ programming and I need to solve this problem: in the class 5 pupils got marks for the course informatics on a total of 30 points. these points have to be typed on the keyboard and have to be changed in percent. the average has to be calculated too. I have to use iterations and I can't use anything other than <iostream>. I tried numerous times to make a decent program but the results are really bad so I'll be useless to show them.

https://www.daniweb.com/articles/latest/2/2 and scroll to the bottom. I see a navigation aid there and it shows a [3] yet it takes me to page 2. Maybe this is by design but it looks a little off. Not a big bug. Just a minor thing.

Hi, I'm new here, from Malaysia. I'm sorry for my bad English. But I want to ask about choosing my future career (last semester study in comp. system & networking & my internship will be next year). I don't know to choose what kind of IT job area is better, programming or networking. What's the Pro & Con? I like to explore both of them. But still want to know which better to go first. Thank you.

The full title: "Why daniweb attracts only newbies with no interest to stay in programming and what can be done to keep the others as well ? " Over few past years now (six my profile says) I love daniweb because it is a polite and civilized place to be (especially in times that I am programming alone , you shouldn't never be alone in programming in my point of view , the interaction is what makes us better and opens our horizons) . I have wrote my objections about the new “design” but this isn't the main problem , …

I know the site switched to a tag system, and while I personally don't care for it, I like the community too much to find an alternative. Since I really only post to a single "tag" group, is it possible for people to have a favorite tags list we can create at the top of the screen? Scrolling to the bottom is a drag just for me to click "C#" and see relevant posts (relevant to me that is). Just an idea. :)

Hi Dani. I was wondering is it possible to add a feature where when there is a watched article update(s) on top on the menus where it say (Watched) have some sort of notification similar to received mails. I noticed the requirement of this feature after I wasn't able to connect to my emails, and since I'm using a blackberry I also don't see when there is an update unless I open the first top post/article to see if there are updates or not, yes Dani do send notification emails, and also do move the updated post upper, but if …

Hello all. Today when viewing a post with replies there's two displyed fields that deal with time: Discussion Span and Last Update. However, when viewing a post without replies yet, there's no display of the date that the post was created. Maybe I'm just blind and couldn't find it, if that's the case please show me the directions. But if it really doesn't show, I think it should. Cheers!

I think it would be a good idea for the question asker to mark the posts or the users who contributed to finding the answer to their query. The reason for this is because I occasionally see that post such as "What [previous user] said" which isn't in any way contributing to the solution yet when the thread gets marked as solved, they get credit for contributing to the solution.

Hi! I hope I'm throwing this thread into a correct (sub)forum, at least I think this should be the correct one. If it's wrong, please, make sure the tar is warm, and don't use chicken's feathers as they make my nose tickle inside, thanks. I have a suggestion, sort of request for a change to a certain page I've hit few times. It's that **Oops!**-page, where reads the same text as title of this thread: "*You don't have access to this post, most likely because it's been deleted.*" Or either a change to an email, which merely indicates that *following …

I kinda like the idea behind the static/fixed header, but I was wondering if there's any chance to actually extend it, and add the user information to it, like this: ![cc7912a9152d4af5365953c22bf1c3ef](/attachments/large/3/cc7912a9152d4af5365953c22bf1c3ef.png "cc7912a9152d4af5365953c22bf1c3ef")

With the new changes to make it mobile friendly and the removal of the menu bar that moves down with you, is it possible for us to have a "Back to Top" or similar functional button on the header that will return us to the top of the page so that we don't have to spend a minute scrolling back up to the menu? :)

I just want to suggest that Daniweb add a 'save as draft' option when creating new posts. I think it would be helpful to those who take a lot of time writing their posts, and to those who stop at the middle of writing to check ideas, but want to continue writing their post later on...

Would it be a big deal to add an option to the Search to restrict results to the current forum only? When I am on the VB.net forum, for example, and I do a search, I am interested in results in the VB.Net forum only.
