It's your first thread AND your first post :) A thread is a sequence of posts which together form a conversation. I am posting the second post within this thread, for example. A forum consists of a bunch of threads about a particular topic. For example, there is a forum for Windows XP and another forum all about Web Browsers. Many of the forums on DaniWeb are further subdivided into subforums to be more organized.
With that said ... Welcome to DaniWeb! You can get your MSN problem solved by posting a thread within one of the Windows subforums: http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/forum99.html
