Pardon my ignorance but even though I've heard of it I now may have need to use this app. The question is now that I have seen a number of versions I do not know what is the preferred 'flavor' for IT people. Guidance sought

Much thanks for the timely reply. I deal primarily with windows. I see that there are a number of windows versions of Putty and I don't know which is the authentic or most commonly used version. Thought that someone who uses it could identify "The Putty" download.

It is a better choice to Download the ZIP file containing all the binaries (except PuTTYtel), and also the help files.
