Hello, not sure this is the right place to post this. My son and I have just about completed a software suite that is a good solution in the focused market of digital photography. We have a chance to showcase this product to over 2,000 photographers in an upcoming photo workshop. We have the capabilities to let this run as a beta version and depending on interest and demand, create an official version anywhere from 2-3 months out. Once we see that our efforts have a product people are interested in buying, we then can follow the path of hiring the right individuals to assist us in the components we do not have much experience in: software security, copyrights, legalities, professional installation and tracking.
Question is, we are working with a very limited budget and dedicating all time and energy into this project, we do not know as of yet the interest level. What landmines are out there that we are not aware of in terms of selling software? We are planning to keep this only selling online as of now. Are there any websites that address these concerns?
