My labtop was running one day and an error message popped up saying there had been a fatal error and windows had to shut down. Once restarted the same message kept popping up. I attemtped to reinstall windows XP on my system and during the installation another error popped up saying that some files were corrupted and installation was exited. Now every time the system boots up, a message pops up stating that \windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt! Is my system is fried, or can I do something to fix it? Please help me!!!!!!!!

Well did you damage your laptop in any way? Drop it, spill something on it, etc..?

Boot to the xp cd and reformat your hd and then reinstall xp.. that should solve your problem.
