HTML Code & Search Engine Ranking Factors

What about them? Are they related?

Of course it's important to good coding. Simple code is best because it needs to clean appearing (non-trickster-like-looking). It should be unriddled of significant coding errors. It should also be as HTML 5.0 compliant as humanly possible. Intelligent coding makes the search engine think it was important enough for someone to properly craft the web page. That give more value to it. Stuff that's thrown together by a machine (and most HTML editors) can send the spider doing some crazy analysis because it appears to be just like all the other spammy junk it requires to digest somehow.
