I would just like to say that I love Screaming Frog. That is all. Carry on.

What is your #1 go-to SEO tool?

Screaming Frog remains one of the most practical desktop crawlers for technical SEO: fast site discovery, in-depth reports (redirect chains, response codes, canonicals, hreflang, duplicate meta) and a Chromium-based renderer for JS sites. The official user guide is a good reference for feature details and UI changes: Screaming Frog user guide.

Actionable tips that build on points raised in this thread:

  • Limit crawl depth to focus audits on your core pages; depth reflects internal-link distance from the start URL. Use List mode when you want to audit a specific set of URLs only.
  • Slow the request rate or reduce concurrent threads if the crawl is stressing the origin server; always respect robots.txt and meta-robots directives.
  • Enable JavaScript rendering to see what Googlebot can render, then cross-check with Search Console URL inspection.
  • Connect Google Analytics and Search Console to prioritize pages by traffic or impressions, and export reports such as All Inlinks, Redirect Chains, and Canonical Issues for triage.

Keep in mind that adjusting Screaming Frog settings changes what the tool crawls, not how Google indexes the site. For very large sites, monitor server logs and crawl budget guidance before large structural changes; see Google’s crawl budget documentation for context: . Long-time users like and reflect why many still rely on it; ’s point about tuning scope is a practical example of making audits more actionable.

We are on the same page here, used it for quite some time, not recently though, so thank you for "reminding" me again.

I found this to be the best tool to use, maybe something newer were launched but I have not seen it - stick to what I know pops to mind!

100% in agreement with you there!

I recently used it to tweak the maximum crawl depth from 6 to 5 and it seems to have made a huge improvement, even before this latest core algorithm update that started this week.
