Need help with centering website

Hey all

I am a complete newbie who just developed a site based on a template. Below is the template code. I want to make it so the entire website centers horizontally on anyones screen. What code do I need to put any where? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

You need to center your divs

Put ....... <div align='center'> right after <body> then put </div> In front of </body>

Hi, you've put the last close div </div> AFTER the </body> not BEFORE.

Try this

</div>
</body>

You could also give the body a style of:

body {
margin: 0 auto;
}

if you don't know anything about stylesheets (CSS) then type this:

<body style="margin: 0 auto;">
You content goes here...
</body>

Thanks guys, I just dont know where to put this code you are telling me to put I made the site in design view.

when I did that it only centered the editable content region....
any ideas?

I tried doing it that way (the /div before /body)
and the last tip you gave (not knowing stylesheets)

then i preview in browser and it doesnt work

bah im getting frustrated! any other ideas?

Doh! I forget to get you to set the width, which appears to be 955px but I'm not too sure.

Ok, try this:

<body style="width: 955px; margin: 0 auto;">
Content goes here...
</body>

Like I said, I think the width should be 955px, but you may need to play with that to get it exactly right.

OR

if that creates something weird, do this instead:

<div id="container" style="width: 955px; margin: 0 auto;">
Content goes here...
</div>
</body>

YAY I found the solution via google!

Immediately under the <body> tag, add the following two lines of code:
HTML Code:
<div style="width:100%">  <div style="position:relative; width:950px; margin:0 auto;"> 
Then, immediately before the </body> tag you need to close the two divs created above with:
HTML Code:
</div> </div>

except instead of 950, 956 works out perfectly for some reason. 955 makes a bit of a gap. and in addition to this i had to center the CSS background image that i created through my photostyles.css
