When deciding colors for things you need to do a lot of trials. Plus having a few color addons helps. You can look at the color combinations that other good sites use and then to get the color they use you can use a very good addon for firefox called colorzilla.

I think a dark blue would look nice with it, it reminds me of the lufthansa, ikea, bestbuy, and carmax logo...

i would just use http://www.colourlovers.com. you can paste in your color code and they give you palettes with fitting color ideas.
