Photoshop CS2 does support pressure-sensitive tablets — pressure is a Brush setting (Shape Dynamics → Control: Pen Pressure). If that control shows a small warning triangle, Photoshop isn’t receiving real stylus input (it behaves like a mouse). That means the app is fine; the problem is almost always the tablet driver or how the driver exposes pressure to Windows/Photoshop. (manualshelf.com)

Checklist to diagnose and fix the problem (apply in order):

  • Confirm a proper manufacturer driver is installed (not just a generic HID/mouse driver). If you have multiple tablet drivers installed, fully remove the extras before reinstalling the vendor driver. Plug the tablet into a main USB port (avoid hubs). (community.adobe.com)
  • Check which API the driver exposes. Older Photoshop (CS2) expects a WinTab-compatible driver; if the tablet only exposes newer “Windows Ink” or only emulates a mouse, CS2 won’t get pressure. That explains why the pen worked on your uncle’s PC — a different driver/config was in use. (community.adobe.com)
  • Use a Wintab diagnostic (wtinfo/wtcapt) to confirm the driver reports pressure (look for DVC_NPRESSURE / NPRESSURE in the report). If the utility shows pressure values, the issue is a Photoshop/setting mismatch; if it doesn’t, the driver/hardware isn’t exposing pressure. (developer-support.wacom.com)

If the driver never exposes WinTab pressure, CS2 can’t use pen pressure. Options then are: find a WinTab-compatible driver from the vendor (or an official archive), run the Wintab diagnostic and share results when asking for help, use a Photoshop version that supports Windows Ink, or replace the tablet with a model known to support WinTab. Avoid downloading drivers from random sites—use the manufacturer or well-known support sources.

Notes tied to thread posts: ’s suggestion that Photoshop can’t do pressure is incorrect — Photoshop can, but it needs a driver that exposes pressure. ’s observation that the pen worked on another PC is the key clue: compare drivers and run the Wintab test on both machines. If cannot find the original CD, contact the vendor or search only reputable driver archives for the exact model (JIL-1211) rather than random mirrors.

I don't think pen pressure is compatible with art/graphics software such as Paintshop Pro and Photoshop. I also have a Graphics Tablet, with a pen pressure function, and it doesn't work with Paintshop Pro, which is what i use. One program which i know of that comes close to fix this issue, but not fully i might add, is the freeware program called "The Gimp". It can be downloaded from here
This isn't a fix for the issue, it's a way that nearly gets pen pressure reception.

no i got this from my uncle when he used it with photoshop the pen pressure works. Maybe its the settings

Hey NeonJacob,

I cannot send you the drivers because they are to big. You can download them at the frontech website I believe but im too lazy at 1:39 am to get it for you. Yay. You have to do some research to find these driver. Best option is google search. Anyways good luck on finding it and have fun with your frontech SmartPen.
