I've just acquired a laptop for free. The thing just won't light up when plugging it in. I've checked the AC adapter and it's fine. Before I assume it's the motherboard does anyone have any suggestions? Thank You, this is my first posting.

1st suggestion ,leave it plugged for awhile to make sure the battery has some charge,as most laptops don't like starting with a dead battery !
