Hi my name is Grace and I am having a problems with my printer. Two week ago I had a anti-virus trying to sell me some software so every time I clicked they came up. So my sister tried to help me and we got rid of the virus software. Now the problem I have is I cannot print from word 2002 or online. Can anyone help me, Thank you so much.

Because printing fails from Word 2002 and from the browser, this looks like a system-level problem that appeared after the restore rather than an application issue. described the symptoms and replies from and hit two common causes (security settings and driver/state loss). Below are targeted, practical checks that move beyond those suggestions and help narrow the fault quickly.

  • Verify the printer itself: power cycle it, confirm it shows "Ready" (no paper/toner errors), and try a different USB cable or port.
  • Make sure the correct device is the default printer and clear any stuck jobs in Control Panel -> Printers.
  • Restart the Print Spooler service: open services.msc, find Print Spooler, choose Restart. If it will not start, note the error in Event Viewer.
  • Clear the spooler queue safely: stop the Print Spooler, delete files in C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS (requires admin), then start the service again. Do this only after stopping the spooler.
  • Check Device Manager for print-related driver issues or unknown devices; remove ghost/old printer entries and let Windows re-detect hardware.
  • Print a Test Page or print from Notepad to separate OS/driver problems from Word-specific issues. Try printing from another PC to confirm the printer hardware.

If remnants of the malware removal changed permissions or left services disabled, run a full malware scan and install the latest printer driver from the manufacturer if Windows does not auto-install one. If none of the above helps, record any error messages from Event Viewer and the Print Spooler — they give the most useful diagnostic clues for the next step.

is your firewall disable? it may not allow you to install printer

you may have uninstalled the driver when you did a restore. try re-installing the manufacturer's driver that came with your printer. if you don't have the disc most printer manufacturers will have the drivers on their wesite.

good luck
