I love watching DVDs on the road or on the dive boat, but today I had a disturbing experience. I watched an episode of CSI Las Vegas at about 15 FPS. The video was very choppy, but the sound was normal. A quick swap reviled it was just the CSI DVDs. If I made the viewer as small as possible the video was smooth. I ended up dropping the screen res to 640 X 480 and made the viewer full size, it wasn’t bad as long as it wasn’t full screen. I tested the CSI DVDs in another player and they run just fine. Any ideas?

I know it is the CSI disks, the question is why can’t I watch them like other DVDs?

Hello,

Wild guess: the encoding on the CSI disks are of a compression scheme that is very intense, and the laptop was working very hard to display the movie.
