hello
I want to build a computer and i'm afraid i have an abundance of ignorance about some basic things. Looking at hard drives, will an eide drive work or does it need to be specified as an ide drive?
also, if the drive is specified as "ultra" what does that mean?
when the board specifies ata 130, is it critical to match that spec or could a 150 or a 100 be used?
i am planning to use a MSI "K8T NEO2-FIR" VIA K8T800 Pro mother board with a atholon 64 3500+ chip
thanks for the info.
dan

also as an after thought:
i have a seagate which came with some utilities that can be used to copy, format etc.
any chance that that somftware would be usable on a different brand of drive?
wondering if i could buy an oem drive and use the old utilities
thanks
dan
