Recently my laptop‘s been working fine, but today i turned it on and and when it booted up, i couldn‘t see anything except the wallpaper and cursor.
it does this everytime i turn it on.
now, if i press contrl alt and delete, i can browse files to open, and when i tried opening a jpg file it worked, and all the desktop icons and start menu etc apeared.
however, everything is really slow, and i can‘t really use it. firefox takes ages to open, and when it does i can‘t access the internet.
the laptop is fairly old, and recently the clock battery ran out so if i turn it off at the plug, the time resets. also i have a tendency not to shut it down properly- i often hold the power button down to turn it off quickly.
