Hey,

I have a toshiba laptop which has a dead motherboard. I bought a little caddy and took the hard drive out of it and connected it via USB to my new laptop. (Both laptops ran XP)
It worked fine yesterday and I was able to access my old files from the salvaged hard drive.
Today however, when i plug the USB cable into the laptop I get a message saying there was a power surge in the USB port and I have to reset it.

This now happens everytime I plug in the cable.

Can anyone help with this problem?
