Recently my hard disk started clicking and i thought that the only way i could access it was by making it a slave. But when i connected it to another computer, the drive is recognized in the post message and in BIOS but not in windows. Is there a way i can recover the data?

Just try to let it work the same way it used to ... then make a pack up via other ways DVDs or USB HDs ... etc. because when you are making it slave, there are many reasons why windows is not recognizing it, and you'll lost really much time before windows sees it.
