My pc restart when i reached win xp screen. This problem starts when i perform the disk check operation.During this it delete some files.plz help me out

Quick diagnostic note for (and others who hit the same symptom): a machine that restarts at the XP logo and also restarts while the CD installer shows "SETUP INSPECTING YOUR HARDWARE CONFIG" is usually not just a missing system file. Because and already covered basic RAM/boot suggestions and those didn’t fix it, focus on isolating hardware, firmware and install-media causes.

Try these in order (each step rules some causes in or out):

  • Minimal hardware boot: unplug everything nonessential (extra HDDs, optical drives after first test, PCI cards, USB devices). Leave just CPU, one stick of RAM, keyboard and monitor. Visually inspect the motherboard for bulging caps and smell for burnt components.

  • Memory test: boot a standalone tester such as Memtest86+ and let it run several passes. If errors appear, test each DIMM in each slot or swap with a known-good stick.

  • Install media and optical drive: a scratched or bad XP CD can crash setup. Try a different CD/ISO, reburn at low speed, or use another optical drive. If the installer reboots once then immediately boots the CD again, remove the disc after the first automatic restart so the machine can continue from the hard disk.

  • If you can get to the Recovery Console from the XP CD, run these in order:

    chkdsk /r
fixboot
fixmbr
bootcfg /rebuild

    chkdsk /r repairs filesystem/bad sectors; the others repair boot records. Only use these if the Recovery Console is reachable.

  • BIOS/PSU checks: reset BIOS to defaults or clear CMOS, disable any overclocking, and if possible test with a known-good power supply. Unexpected restarts during early setup are frequently failing PSU or motherboard faults.

Prioritize memtest and trying a different install CD. If both pass and the Recovery Console fixes do not, the problem is most likely motherboard or PSU hardware failure.

i guess it is restarting before getting the dekstop,it may be a RAM problem,just clean the RAM and reconnect it!

if it is getting to the dekstop and then restarting that means it can't load some essential startup files,which can't be recovered.
u try to open your PC in safe mode and then try files recovery software.
if you are not done yet!!
just format the drive.

Hi, normally when that happen is because some software was disable or deleted, try to open your PC in safe mode and then try files recovery software, them after that instal again the win.

iam nt able 2 log into by safe mode ,it restart.I also remove my ram,clean it and put it in the slot but nthing works even i tried it to boot through win xp cd but its nt booting and not showing any error and start normal but as it reaches xp screen it restart. My pc has 256 mb ram.

before booting from XP cd ,i guess you haven't chnaged the boot order to the cd rom.
go to boot menu pressing F8 WHILE RESTARTING and chane the boot order then boot from CD.
i guess i wil work

When i boot from cd it reaches upto "SETUP INSPECTING UR HARDWARE CONFIG" and then restart again

hi i instal the xps2 to my computer its copy file and restart but again it boot from cd..it didnt boot from hard disk give pls me solution for this
